Level 3 Award in Foundations of Yoga
The Level 3 Yoga foundations course is an online course. Level 3 Foundations is a prerequisite for Level 4 Yoga.
Level 3 Yoga studies the following:
· The Moving Body – Asanas; Sun Salutations; Kinesiology.
· The Breathing Body – Breathing Practices.
· The Energetic Body – Mudras; Chakras; Bandhas.
· Relaxation and Meditation – Journal Writing
· Developing Personal Practice – Reflective Practice
· The Yoga Sutras – the teachings of Patanjali
Level 4 Diploma in Teaching Yoga
The Level 4 Yoga Diploma in Teaching Yoga is an online course and studies the following:
· The Legal Aspects of Teaching Yoga
· Planning and Delivering a Yoga Class
· The Asanas
· Reflective Practice
· The History of Yoga
· Chakras
· Teaching to mixed-ability students
Level 4: 5 units
- Unit 1: Finding the breath; reflective diary and video of your teaching practice
- Unit 2: Understanding and planning the Philosophy of Yoga; reflective diary of your meditation and video of how you would teach meditation & coursework portfolio.
- Unit 3: Planning and Delivering Yoga Classes; 6-week schematic of their classes and teach 30-minute session, A&P coursework portfolio
- Unit 4: Teaching Asana to meet the needs of Mixed mixed-ability students; lesson plan for mixed ability and teach a 30-minute session to suit mixed-ability
- Unit 5: Teaching Yoga as a profession business plan
- An Industry experience logs totalling 20 hours is required as part of your assessment.
Level 3: 1 Unit
Level 3 Award in Foundations of Yoga
Assessments for Level 3 Foundations Yoga are the following:
· Lesson Plans
· Breathing Practice (Pranayama) Journal
· Pranayama Practice (Video) (5 mins)
· Relaxation and Meditation Journal
· Relaxation and Meditation Video (3 to 5 mins each)
· Lesson Plan and video of Yoga Class (45 mins)
· Questions and answers on Yoga Sutras
Level 4 Diploma in Teaching Yoga
Assessments for Level 4 Foundations Yoga are the following:
· Questions and answers on teaching Yoga as a Profession.
· Complete one Business Plan
· Produce a Scheme of work over 8 weeks.
· Complete 8 lesson plans to show progression.
· Questions and Answers on the Philosophy of Yoga
· Meditation & Relaxation techniques
· Yoga Session Plan for a Mixed Ability Class
· Pranayama (Breathing Practices) diary and Practice
For the Online Option, you will send in the following via video:
