The dates advertised on the site are the face to face contact days for the course. The course finishes with these contact dates so we recommend signing up 4-6 weeks before the dates advertised to allow time to prepare for the teaching and multiple choice exams.
Teaching Days
For all the courses you will have a mixture of teaching days followed by a final assessment day. The teaching days are designed to enable you to be effective in practical application of training methods, instruct clients safely and design specific programmes based on clients’ goals. The tutor will teach, discuss and demonstrate exercises implementing the anatomical knowledge related to the theory exams to help with revision. The days will be 8 hours of contact time in which you will be working in pairs and small groups to instruct and train each other covering the key elements of exercise instruction. On one of the mornings, dependant on the specific course, you will sit theory exams that you will have prepared for leading up to your teaching days. These exams will be based multiple choice questions with a required pass mark of 70%.
Assessment days
One of the dates advertised will be a designated assessment day, this assessment day will be based on a practical session that you will instruct, being assessed using the specific assessment criteria you would have been following on the teaching days.
